The Institute of
Administrative Sciences was established in 1962 when a post graduate department
for the teaching and research of public administration was started at the
University of the Punjab. The U.S. Aid Mission provided technical assistance to
the Punjab University to establish the program. The Institute of Administrative
Sciences since its inception has played a pivotal role in national development.
It joins hands with the nation in search for innovative and effective means of
governance in public, private and non-profit sectors. By imparting
state-of-the-art knowledge and skills, it helps in generating ideas, bringing
people together, and preparing the next generation of leaders who value
productivity, rule of law, equity, and justice. In keeping with this tradition,
it has recently revamped the curriculum of the MPA program and introduced new
areas of specialization including Information Technology, and Human Resource
Management. In addition new Masters' degree programs have been approved in
specific areas of management such as MPA-IT Health Administration, Human
Resource Management and Management Information System.
